As a University group project we were asked to create an exhibition for the graphic design faculty of the University of Waikato. My section of the project consisted of art direction and creating the motion graphic identity. The shapes are used as an animated way-finding tool displayed on a large screen in the main lobby. The motion graphic loop was created with specific intent to direct students through a corridor to the graphic design exhibition. The shapes represent the students of the Design faculty as they are all studying the same degree ( flying on the same path ) yet the variety of specializations across the class is what makes each student and therefore each shape unique. They polygon shapes were created in Cinema 4D and imported into Ae using Element 3D to create the animation. As the students navigate their way through the degree, their vision and identity as a designer gets clearer and more refined.
